A hand printed linocut print inspired by and created on the Isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland.
This print is presented either as stand alone on A5 paper (printed area 150x100) or in an ivory/white mount measuring 7x9 inches. Please note the oak frame is not included.
Carraig Fhada Lighthouse stands overlooking Port Ellen and Kilnaughton Bay in the south of Islay. Commissioned by Walter Frederick Campbell in 1832 in memory of Eleanor Campbell. The light flashes every 3 seconds with white, red and green sectors. This design was sketched in spring 2021, after sketching we transfer the design onto Lino and carve it with a fine tool. Every piece is individually hand-printed and therefore subtly unique. We use vegetable oil-based inks and 300gsm Snowden Paper.
