About
My name is Bonnie, and I’m the printmaker behind Islay Prints, based on the beautiful Isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland. From my home on The Oa, a rugged, remote corner of the island surrounded by sea, wildlife, and ever-changing landscapes I create lino prints, natural monoprints, and colourful homewares inspired by the wild beauty of island life.
My work is deeply influenced by Islay’s flora and fauna, coastal landscapes, seaweed-covered shores, birds, wildflowers, and the island’s rich whisky heritage. I love capturing the details that make this place so special, transforming them into original prints, organic cotton tea towels, tote bags, wash bags, handmade lampshades, and seaweed pressings designed to bring a little piece of Islay into your home.

It wasn’t until 2020 that I discovered linocut and printmaking. Like many people, lockdown gave me the chance to slow down and re-evaluate life. After years working in an office environment, spending more time outdoors and exploring the landscape around me sparked a passion for creating art inspired by nature. What began as a creative outlet quickly became something much bigger, and within a year I was able to leave my office job and make Islay Prints my full-time business.
My husband, an occasional artist, also contributes to my portfolio of work, often inspired by his own work in conservation and our shared love of the natural world.

Sustainability and conservation are at the heart of what we do. We carefully source our materials, use recycled paper and card wherever possible, print using environmentally conscious methods, aim to keep our packaging plastic-free, and believe in giving back to the landscapes that inspire us. Through the sale of our work, we have supported charities including Plantlife, Butterfly Conservation, and the Marine Conservation Society, helping protect the wildlife and habitats we care so deeply about.
