Morning Dip, Islay (teal) Original Linoprint

My passion for wild swimming inspired this linocut. One of my favourite places for a ‘Morning Dip’ is at Carraig Fhada Lighthouse in Kilnaughton Bay in the south of Islay only a few miles from my home. The waters are crystal clear most of the year, we often see gannets diving, great northern divers bobbing offshore and very rarely we are treated to a breaching dolphin.

This design was sketched in summer 2023, after sketching we transfer the design onto Lino and carve it with a fine tool. Every piece is hand printed and therefore subtly unique.

Printed area measures approx 12cm square and paper size is approx 21cm x 26cm. We use vegetable oil-based inks and 300gsm Snowden Paper.
