'Field of Barley' - Isle of Islay

Barley is the base ingredient for our single malt Islay whiskies and the inspiration for this linocut. We transfer our original sketch to a piece of linoleum before carving out the design with a fine tool. The block is inked by hand and then pressed in our manual printing press before being hand burnished to complete the final print. Each individual print is completely unique with natural variations from the hand burnishing process.

Printed on shiramine select a paper made by hand at the Awagami factory in Japan. Each print is hand cut/torn therefore sizes are approximate 43cm x 33cm with the printed area approx 31cm x 21cm.
