It's May on Islay, which means only one thing, it's Feis Ile!
Islay's wonderful festival of music and malt commenced at the end of the month. Where for 10 days thousands of visitors come to our island to share in Islay's rich culture and indulge in a wee dram or three of its finest whiskies. So whisky really was the theme of the month printing wise, with the black and copper ink out in abundance.
We were lucky enough to have a pop up stall at both Bruichladdich and Laphroaig. We were overwhelmed with the response and sold out of so many items which was quite incredible.
Since I was small I often dreamed of having a shop - but had absolutely no idea what on earth I'd sell. So you can imagine the fun I had putting together my stall and showcasing all my handmade wares.
Event attendance was quite the family affair with everyone pitching in to help, in between their other duties of highland dancing displays and moth id. for the RSPB. The dog was the star of the show on the wettest day of the week at Laphroaig, doing her best to get a wee pat from every passer by.
